Period poverty. Warm Hearts Foundation came to the girls’ rescue due to covid19 with a menstrual campaign that saw over 1,000 girls receive sanitary pads in order to eradicate period poverty
Sexual and gender-based Violence. This is our main core area of operation. Our offices are a rescue centre for victims of gender based and domestic violence. We have held men focus dialogues in this regard since they are the biggest perpetrators, we have also engaged the community leaders in these discussion on how the community can be safeguarded from violence, among the many.
Safe space. Warm Hearts hosts a safe space on every Saturday at the organization premises where different groups of adolescents and teenage mothers are gathered to discuss issues concerning reproductive health rights. Some of the topics shared are ‘my health my rights’, ‘My voice matters’.
Menstrual hygiene. WHF has held over 5 menstrual hygiene campaigns in over 5 schools such as Mukono Vine school, Hilltop Collage Mukono.
Family planning. The organization has distributed family planning equipment to over 400 youths such as condoms to save the girl child from contracting HIV/AIDS as well as having unwanted pregnancy, as well as keep the girl children in school.
Teenage pregnancy. WHF has done a number of activities in this regard such as skilling teenage mothers with knitting skills, giving them business restoration capital, teenage mother focus group discussions.
Child Care & maternal health. The team of WHF partnered with the Lc1 leadership to always meet village women once a month to discuss issues of child care, such as taking care of the new-borns, right feeding, child safety and financial inclusion. We have also given some mothers hampers including pampers, soap and mosquito nets in this regard.
Study materials. Warm Hearts distributed a number Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights educative material to over 300 young people to learn about safety and amplify teenage voices against sexual abuse.
